In ZIEL, the latest production by Conny Janssen Danst, an adventurous group of dancers embarks on a quest for freedom, lightness, and unexpected encounters. The desire to live life to the fullest guides their journey. However, can they achieve this when life does not conform to our plans and desires? What prevents us from embracing life and breaking free from the restrictions we impose on ourselves and each other?

In Conny Janssen's latest work, we find ourselves in the midst of life, with all the uncertainties and contradictions that come with it. Can we accept life without being paralyzed by the challenges ahead? Are we willing to take risks?

ZIEL is a tribute to life, with all its ups and downs, surprises, and disappointments. From quiet moments to exuberant celebrations, from painful confrontations to hopeful expectations. In ZIEL, we express the urge to be free and uninhibited, to throw open the shutters and dive into the deep, without fear or hesitation.

Dance ensemble, stage design & soundtrack

For ZIEL, Conny Janssen has assembled an adventurous, international dance ensemble. Renowned dancers such as Adi Amit, Mariko Shimoda, Remy Tilburg, and Maud Huizing share the stage with new faces debuting their formidable dance skills with Conny Janssen Danst this season. For the stage design, Conny Janssen collaborates with designer Thomas Rupert and filmmaker Davide Bellotta, who add an extra dimension to the performance with their set design and motion graphics. The soundtrack in ZIEL ranges from punk rock by Iggy Pop to soundscapes, vocals, and arrangements by Maartje Teussink.
