Als alles zo lekker duidelijk is, waarom voelen wij dan niks als we in onze armen knijpen? Ga je moeder maar pesten, als je niet tegen twijfel kan. Maar val ons niet lastig met je zekerheden. Overigens heeft dat hele nummer van Queen niks met de voorstelling te maken. Het komt er niet eens in voor. Het is maar een voorbeeld. 

(…..) Een voorstelling die schijt heeft aan zijn eigen vage titel won de Gouden Krekel voor de meest indrukwekkende jeugdtheaterproductie 2020-2021. Uit het juryrapport: “(…) is behoorlijk vaag, laat zich lastig navertellen, maar is van begin tot het einde raak. Een overrompelende theaterervaring, die met Carola Bärtschiger, Willemijn Zevenhuijzen en Elias De Bruyn de ideale acteurs heeft, want in niets stralen ze uit dat ze acteurs zijn. Hun timing in het ontkennen van spel is perfect.”

This wordless play for young children shows what happens when unsuspecting people are suddenly put in a literal spotlight. Right when they think they’re unobserved, they suddenly realize they’re front and center. You can’t run… you can’t hide, so you… put on a little show? But how!?

The great I’m not in the mood for this show is an upbeat, absurdist performance about watching and being watched. Extroverts have dominated the conversation long enough, and it's about time to shine a spotlight on the shy ones. Timidly, they come out of their shell and take the audience on a careening path towards a glorious finale.

Jetse Batelaan directs his third show for ages 4 and up, and reunites with René van 't Hof (The man who knows it all, The invisible man) and musician Keimpe de Jong, for this special occasion performing with his Theatre Artemis Show orchestra.
