Adi(c)sco is a party that spirals out of control and never ends, with a 1970s aesthetic, extravagant characters, and pulsating beats.
Adi(c)sco is a seemingly endless dance trip in search of the euphoria, of constantly moving forward and losing oneself in it. Addiction, in other words. The performance exudes the atmosphere of the disco, the era when the club scene and consequently club drugs became popular. With a strong personal motivation, Moisio aims to address the taboos and shame surrounding addiction; she grew up with an alcoholic father.
Finnish choreographer Cecilia Moisio is regarded as one of the most eclectic creators in our country. She received the Prize of the Dutch Dance Days for Young Audiences and was nominated twice as a dancer for De Zwaan.
Moisio has collaborated several times with Club Guy & Roni. She creates activist, expressive, theatrical work on urgent themes. With Club Guy & Roni's Poetic Disasters Club (junior company), she crafted the provocative, in-your-face performance about the vulva titled V, a festival hit at De Parade.
Cecilia Moisio is fascinated by the unconscious behavioral patterns arising from the expectations we must meet and the social norms imposed upon us. As a self-proclaimed 'psychological activist,' she is always seeking what lies behind our motives, emotions, and behavior, aiming to confront her audience with unspoken taboos. Through her performances, she carefully exposes constructed facades in an interdisciplinary form, somewhere between theater, dance, and performance art.
