Traditionele koeienbelkunst samengesmolten met percussie en dans

Inspired by their shared heritage, Marco and João explore themes of identity, culture, and society. They blend ancient traditions with modern innovations, creating a landscape rich with memories where tradition meets the new.

Terra Cobre is a groundbreaking collaboration, merging the creative forces of choreographer Marco da Silva Ferreira and musician João Pais Filipe. From Portugal's Alentejo region, this innovative work blends traditional cowbell art with contemporary expressions rooted in percussion and dance.

Cowbells, recognized by UNESCO in 2015 as needing urgent safeguarding, are the centerpiece of Terra Cobre. In this piece, Marco and João reimagine traditional Portuguese symbols in a new, sensory context.

The heart of Terra Cobre is a sculptural and sonic installation that invites visitors into a space where art and imagination meet. This experience is enhanced by a captivating 50-minute performance by Marco and João, adding a narrative layer to the installation.

Inspired by their shared heritage, Marco and João explore themes of identity, culture, and society. They blend ancient traditions with modern innovations, creating a landscape rich with memories where tradition meets the new.

Using the sounds and silences of cowbells, Marco and João craft a multisensory masterpiece. Their collaboration transcends boundaries, merging different layers of interest and material to shape a dynamic and evocative experience.
