Mary, Billybud en Fumbleton zijn drie kleine menselijke personages uit een kindertelevisieserie genaamd Wander to Wonder. Na de dood van de maker blijven ze alleen achter in de studio. Terwijl ze vechten tegen honger, blijven ze doorgaan met het maken van steeds vreemdere afleveringen voor hun fans.
De maker
Nina Gantz is een Nederlandse animatieregisseur gevestigd in Brighton. Ze studeerde af aan de National Film and Television School met haar animatiefilm EDMOND, die 38 prijzen won, waaronder een BAFTA en de Sundance Award voor Beste Korte Animatiefilm. Haar nieuwste korte film Wander to Wonder ging in première op het Filmfestival van Venetië en wordt nu wereldwijd vertoond, met onder andere de prijs voor Beste Korte Animatiefilm op SXSW. Ze vindt inspiratie in het combineren van verschillende technieken zoals stop-motion, poppenspel en live action.

A sinister stop-motion film with a great eye for detail
Mary, Billybud, and Fumbleton are three tiny humans who star in a children’s TV series called Wander to Wonder. After the creator dies, they are left alone in the studio. Struggling with hunger and grief, they continue to make increasingly strange episodes for their fans.
The filmmaker
Nina Gantz is a Dutch animation director based in Brighton. She graduated from the National Film and Television School with her animated short film EDMOND, which won 38 awards, including a BAFTA and the Sundance Award for Best Animated Short. Her latest short film Wander to Wonder premiered at the Venice Film Festival and is currently being shown at festivals worldwide, winning awards such as Best Animated Short at SXSW. She finds inspiration in combining different techniques like stop-motion, puppetry, and live action.
