Art is not only visible in our halls but also outside, on the steps, in the lobby, and on the square; art is everywhere here. As an interdisciplinary house, we not only provide space for performing arts but also bring various disciplines together in our lobby for encounters between worlds and works.
About TRaces
During the free expo program TRaces, we invite Rotterdam artists, from emerging to established, to use our building as a stage for ongoing exhibitions of interdisciplinary work that connect with the city of Rotterdam and its residents. The lobby is the exhibition space where these invited Rotterdam artists leave their mark. Is there a performance in the main hall? Then you can always drop by during the exhibition period, before the performance starts, during, and shortly after it ends. From November 24th and onwards we welcome Merijn Haenen.
About the artist
Amanda Harput is a Rotterdam based photographer and videographer. From an early age, her fascination with imagery allowed her to lose herself in the stories that pictures could tell. Her work is driven by a desire to capture moments that reveal something deeper about the human experience. She’s fascinated by the diverse stories people carry—shaped by their memories, journeys, and emotions. Every individual has their own unique narrative, and through her photography, she seeks to uncover those hidden stories, exploring the complexity and richness of life through their faces and moments.
A graduate of the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, she thrives in collaborative projects with fellow artists, yet she also finds joy in venturing out on her own with her camera in hand, capturing moments in solitude with the one that she is portraying. Her dream is to create a documentary that explores a story over an extended period, allowing the viewer to truly connect with another person’s experience. She is drawn to the quiet strength found in vulnerability, and through her work, she hopes to highlight the subtle yet powerful moments that often go unnoticed.
This edition of TRaces will have its grand opening Sunday afternoon November 24th at 13:30 in the erkerfoyer of TR25 Schouwburg. In the week after the opening more works of Amanda Harput will be added to the exposition.
