Rotterdam vormt opnieuw hét decor voor de prestigieuze Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC)! Voor de zevende keer reizen choreografische talenten van over de hele wereld af naar Theater Rotterdam om deel te nemen aan deze unieke competitie. Liefhebbers van dans, creativiteit en innovatie mogen dit niet missen. Zestien choreografen presenteren veelzijdige, vernieuwende en indrukwekkende duetten en strijden om felbegeerde prijzen.

De competitie
Met trots presenteert RIDCC deze bijzondere editie, waar choreografen zich inzetten voor veelbelovende prijzen. Tijdens de voorrondes op donderdag 12 juni en vrijdag 13 juni zie je zestien spectaculaire duetten in een breed scala aan dansstijlen. De competitie bereikt zijn hoogtepunt op zaterdag 14 juni, tijdens de grote finale. Hier selecteert een prestigieuze jury de winnaar van de felbegeerde XL Productie Award. Partners van RIDCC reiken daarnaast de Partner Awards uit, terwijl jij als publiek beslist wie de Publieksprijs wint. Na de optredens sluiten we af met een feestelijke prijsuitreiking.

De prijzen
De winnaar van de hoofdprijs, de XL Productie Award (ter waarde van € 100.000) krijgt de unieke mogelijkheid om een nieuwe, autonome productie te maken bij Scapino Ballet Rotterdam met garantie op een tournee door het land.

De partners van RIDCC, nationaal en internationaal gerenommeerde gezelschappen, kiezen de winnaars van de Partner Awards. De deelnemende partners die in 2025 een Award uitreiken: Het Nationaal Ballet, MiR Dance Company GelsenKirchen (Duitsland), FORM Dance Projects (Australië), Club Guy & Roni, Dansateliers, CCN de créteil et du Val-de-Marne/ EMKA (Frankrijk), Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht, Nederlands Dans Theater, Codarts Rotterdam, TanzLabor ROXY Ulm (Duitsland), TANZ Bielefeld (Duitsland), Conny Janssen Danst.

In June 2025, Rotterdam will once again be the stage for the prestigious Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Competition (RIDCC)! For the seventh time, choreographic talents from all over the world will gather at Theater Rotterdam to participate in this unique competition. Dance enthusiasts, creativity lovers and innovators won't want to miss this event. Sixteen choreographers will showcase versatile, innovative and captivating duets, competing for coveted awards.

The Competition
RIDCC proudly presents this exceptional edition, where choreographers compete for promising awards. During the preliminary rounds on Thursday, 12 June, and Friday, 13 June, you’ll experience sixteen stunning duets in a variety of dance styles. The competition culminates on Saturday, 14 June, with the grand finale. Here, a prestigious jury will select the winner of the highly sought-after XL Production Award. In addition, RIDCC partners will present the Partner Awards, while you, the audience, decide which choreographer will take home the Audience Award. The evening concludes with a celebratory awards ceremony.

The Prizes
The winner of the grand prize, the XL Production Award (worth €100,000), will have the unique opportunity to create a new, autonomous production with Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, guaranteed to tour throughout the country.

The partners of RIDCC, nationally and internationally renowned dance companies, will select the winners of the Partner Awards.
