What happens when you invite not one, but four choreographers to team up and create a collaborative production? That’s what The Square is all about—a vibrant meeting place and creative breeding ground for dance makers and artists from different backgrounds and working in different styles. Under the direction of artistic direction Ed Wubbe, the various ideas are interwoven in an exciting new production.

In this show, four female performers explore the edges where the human body as an instrument can lead us and our imagination. As in all of Ahlbom’s work, an intriguing play takes place between surrealism and transformation. This seemingly magical, poetic journey takes us along the real and the unreal and makes one continuously question: can you look at it differently?

Rotterdam International Duet Choreography Contest

RIDCC | 11, 12 ,13 june

RIDCC offers you the chance to see up-and-coming top talent from all over the world in Theater Rotterdam. During the preliminaries on 11 and 12 June you will see the selected choreographies in all kinds of dance styles. The grand finale will take place on Saturday 13 June. The best choreographies are shown one more time in the large hall of TR Schouwburg.

europefiction is a project that believes in the power of art to bring people together and open their minds. We welcome about 150 young European citizens, coming from 10 theatres in six European countries meeting here in Gelsenkirchen, Germany to create art and discuss the future of the project Europe.
