ARIAH LESTER
The Gate | Apr 2 - Apr 3
ARIAH LESTER exposes his search of identity as a superstar, the impact of migration, cultural intercourse, spiritual DNA heritage and the exploration of his supernatural powers.
THE GATE is a choreography for 4 dancers, a live concert, a theatre play, eye-catching visuals and some #fakeituntilyoumakeit opera. In a minimalist, modern, queer, afro-caribbean, operatic version of something that could be like Cinderella, The Sound of the Music or The Matrix, LESTER brings his own story, in his own way, with that mix of humour, drama and virtuosity that characterizes his work.

A plane disaster like the start of the road out of the swamp. Crash Park sounds like the hardly dystopian title of an outlook on our modern world. We live in a worldwide disaster park where everything is gradually falling apart - the ethos of the Enlightenment, the advances of science and an economy prone to endless « crises », humanistic ideals, and more importantly, humans.

Introdans
Icoon | Apr 22
Lucinda Childs is one of the iconic ´grand old ladies´ of American modern dance. Her movement language is absolutely unique: in an abstract, almost mathematical fashion the ‘queen of minimal dance’ uses relatively simple ballet and athletic movements to create hugely complex masterpieces. There is a special bond between Childs and Introdans: Introdans is the only Dutch company allowed to perform her work. In addition to existing top-level dance pieces the group has now also produced three world premieres of her work.
