Openingstrack: SBontje
Kunstenaar Stephan Bontje (bekend als Sbontje), geboren en getogen in Rotterdam, studeerde in 2011 af aan de Willem de Kooning Academie als art director. Hij werkte als art director bij Sid Lee, waar hij internationale campagnes maakte voor merken als Adidas, Red Bull en Cirque du Soleil. Tevens was hij hoofd producent en curator voor de Sid Lee galerie waar hij events en diverse expo’s realiseerde.
Uiteindelijk runde hij zijn eigen galerie genaamd the void. Ook ging hij zich steeds meer op zijn eigen kunst richten. Hij is zowel commercieel als autonoom actief in Nederland, maar ook in steden als Göteborg, Parijs, Berlijn en Londen.
Stephan groeide op in Rotterdam, de nummer 2 stad als het gaat om diversiteit in culturen. Hij heeft altijd een grote fascinatie gehad voor de geschiedenis van deze culturen. Hij laat zich dan ook inspireren door de vele soorten beeldtalen die deze culturen met zich meedragen. Zo onderzoekt hij patronen, architectuur en religieuze prenten en probeert deze om te vormen tot een nieuw beeld in de vorm van illustraties, schilderijen en sculpturen.

De Openingstrack, gecureerd door Alida Dors, is onderdeel van ACT: Art, Climate, Transition, een Europees samenwerkingsproject rond ecologie, klimaatverandering en sociale transitie. In een tijd van klimaatdegradatie, pandemieën, massale uitsterving en toenemende ongelijkheid bundelen we onze krachten in een project over hoop, waarbij we brede perspectieven verbinden met specifieke, gelokaliseerde mogelijkheden die we uitnodigen of eisen.

Artist Stephan Bontje (known as Sbontje), born and raised in Rotterdam, graduated from Willem de Kooning Academy in 2011 as an art director. He was also head producer and curator for the Sid Lee gallery where he realized events and various expos.
He ended up running his own gallery called the void. He also increasingly focused on his own art. He is commercially and autonomously active in the Netherlands, but also in cities such as Gothenburg, Paris, Berlin and London.
Stephan grew up in Rotterdam, the number 2 city when it comes to diversity in cultures. He has always had a great fascination for the history of these cultures. He is therefore inspired by the many types of visual languages that these cultures carry with them. He investigates patterns, architecture and religious prints and tries to transform them into a new image in the form of illustrations, paintings and sculptures.
