Alec Kakisina

During Welcome To Our Guesthouse Alec Kasina presents her work Wish You Well. 
Where wishes from your ancestors to you, seem to fade and change through time. Via this photo installation Alec Kakisina wants to create awareness around how our wishes for the next generation are also just a moment in time. Their dreams, will change, will differ, from ours for them.

Alec Kakisina, born in Utrecht and studied in Amsterdam. Starting at the dance academy Lucia Marthas and continued her moving studies at the Amsterdam School of Arts where she graduated from the Urban Contemporary Dance department.
Being a graduate in such a moving field, Alec has always been drawn to composition. This distinguishes her way of looking at images, with a background in dance that requires thinking about all that can move, light, sound, costumes, scenery.
After graduating with her own dance film, she found multiple ways to capture movement. Photography has always stood out and grew organically with her.
Her commissioned client base now spreads from Mubi to De Volkskrant to document a tour from well known music artists. Via her social media she shares her personal documenting work, since she values the story behind the people that she portraits a lot. This is also the niche where you see her working most often.
In collaboration with Margery Genevie she exhibited a triptych in 2023 at CBK Amsterdam.
Alec is deepening her knowledge and connections within the artscene with her position at Brutus Art Space - Rotterdam.
