Flox Aalberts

scenograaf

Scenographer Flox Aalberts worked with Liza Sulaiman to create the scenography of The Red turns Dark Blue. And assisted Wael Qadriyeh in designing the public space around WTOG.

As a scenographer, Flox's goal is to design the production as a whole, influencing both the performance and the flow of the scenes. Often her work focuses on creating visual transformations that can surprise and engage spectators and performers. A significant part of her process involves experimenting and creating, preferably on a large scale, as this helps her refine her work and see how other makers respond to it.

She usually works intuitively, guided by what feels right or what interests her at the time. This way, each project allows her to reinvent herself as a scenographer, designing spaces that reflect what feels necessary in that moment.

Collaboration is important to her, and she enjoys working with both other scenographers and creators from different disciplines. The interdisciplinary nature of theatre and performance art inspires her, as she is curious about the ideas of other makers.
