During Feeling Curious? we host a special double edition of Dating the Unknow. Pick your performance and we'll pick your match

Ready for a new dimension in dating? Meet your theater match on 27 september during a theatrical date. After a successful series last season, we are back with Dating the Unknown.

We believe in creating connections that go beyond the surface. During Dating the Unknown, you have the chance to be matched with your ideal theater partner. Fill out a questionnaire in advance, and we'll work to find your perfect match. Whether it's a romantic spark, a new friendship, or a poly connection, we ensure an evening full of unexpected encounters.

Signing up:

To make sure we kick the season of right, we host not one but two rounds of dating. Buy a ticket for your favorite performance, pick price type 'unknown' fill out the questionaire and we'll do the matching.

Round 1, 18:45,  ALL OVER / ALT NÅ - Eivind Seljeseth: 

The first round of daters will go see ALL OVER / ALT NÅ by Eivind Seljeseth. The piece is a poetic and playful exploration of conventions and perceptions. All members in the crowd will wear headphones to hear different personal stories of the performers.

Round 2, 20:15, PEARLS - Joshua Serafin:

The second round of daters will go see PEARLS by Joshua Serafin.  PEARLS isn't just about the past; it's about imagining a better future. A journey exploring pre-colonial Philippine identities through dance, song, and theater, along with fellow artists Lukresia Quismundo and Bunny Cadag. Their mission goes beyond just putting on a show; it's a way to honor a time when people saw gender as fluid, like a flowing river. Inspired by these stories, they want to discuss gender in a new way, breaking free from old ideas.

How does the evening unfold?

We welcome you 45 minutes before the start at our 'love desk.' Where you'll find our matchmakers team. To avoid unpleasant surpises they've made sure to email you a day prior to your date to tell you on which grounds you've been matched. They're also availible for any questions throughout the night.

While you enjoy a refreshing Kaapse Brouwers drink, our matchmakers arrange the first introduction. Then it's up to you to get to know each other before the performance of your choosing begins. 

After the performance, you're free to go. Not done with your date? You can stay in our festivalheart for another drink.

Klaar voor daten in een hele nieuwe vorm? Ontmoet je ideale theater partner op 27 september tijdens een theatrale date. Na een succesvolle reeks afgelopen seizoen zijn we terug met Dating the Unknown.

Wij geloven in het creëren van connecties die verder gaan dan de oppervlakte. Tijdens Dating the Unknown krijg je de kans om gematcht te worden met jouw toekomstige theater partner. Vul van tevoren een vragenlijst in, en wij doen ons best om jouw perfecte match te vinden. Of het nu een romantische vonk, een nieuwe vriendschap, of een polyamoreuze verbinding is, we zorgen voor een avond vol onverwachte ontmoetingen.

Inschrijven:

Om het seizoen goed af te trappen, organiseren we niet één, maar twee rondes van daten. Koop een ticket voor je favoriete voorstelling, kies prijstype 'unknown' vul de vragenlijst in en wij zorgen voor een match.

Ronde 1, 18:45, ALL OVER / ALT NÅ - Eivind Seljeseth:

De eerste ronde daters gaat naar de voorstelling ALL OVER / ALT NÅ van Eivind Seljeseth. Het stuk is een poëtische en speelse verkenning van conventies en percepties. Alle toeschouwers dragen een koptelefoon om verschillende persoonlijke verhalen van de performers te horen.

Ronde 2, 20:15, PEARLS - Joshua Serafin:

De tweede ronde daters gaat naar de voorstelling PEARLS van Joshua Serafin. PEARLS gaat niet alleen over het verleden; het gaat ook over het verbeelden van een betere toekomst. Een reis waarin prekoloniale Filipijnse identiteiten worden verkend door middel van dans, zang en theater, samen met kunstenaars Lukresia Quismundo en Bunny Cadag. Hun missie gaat verder dan het brengen van een voorstelling; ze willen een tijd eren waarin men gender zag als vloeiend, zoals een stromende rivier. Geïnspireerd door deze verhalen willen ze het gesprek over gender op een nieuwe manier voeren, los van oude ideeën.

Hoe verloopt de avond?

We verwelkomen je 45 minuten voor de voorstelling bij onze ‘liefdesbalie’, waar je ons matchmakersteam zult vinden. Om vervelende verrassingen te voorkomen, hebben zij je een dag van tevoren een e-mail gestuurd om te laten weten waarop je bent gematcht. Ze staan de hele avond klaar voor eventuele vragen.

Terwijl je geniet van een verfrissend drankje van Kaapse Brouwers, regelen onze matchmakers de eerste kennismaking. Daarna is het aan jou om elkaar beter te leren kennen voordat de voorstelling van jouw keuze begint.

Na de voorstelling ben je vrij om te gaan. Nog niet klaar met je date? Je kunt in ons festivalhart blijven voor nog een drankje.
