A mesmerizing dance concert about displacement and belonging, with soprano Bernadeta Astari and dancer Melisa Diktaş.

After the acclaimed WINTER/21/J., the performance LENTE/22/K. is the second in a series of dance portraits by choreographer and director Ryan Djojokarso. In these portraits he investigates the depths of belonging, origin and connectedness in an ever-changing society. His first performance WINTER/21/J. was chosen by the ‘Dutch Theatre Jury’ as one of the most impressive productions of last season.

In LENTE/22/K. Djojokarso creates an intimate portrait of the search for belonging. In the performance we meet the Indonesian K., a woman who feels displaced and has difficulty expressing this. She grew up in a culture where you keep your problems to yourself. She digs for traces of her origins and the journey she has taken. She decides to look for answers, for a place where she can ground herself. In various chapters about love, longing for the past, loneliness ánd hope, the story is sung in Bahasa Indonesia, Javanese and Dutch. The role of the main character K. is played by two performers, (opera) singer Bernadeta Astari and dancer Melisa Diktaş. With new music by composer Singhkéo Panya.
